You get the full starship feel without all of the paperwork of Star Fleet Battles, another fun game. Most of the battle is about energy management, so that will shape some of your tactical decisions in the game. I found the rating system of the ships to be highly accurate. They came out with official ship stats mainly in the Star Trek: Undiscovered Country era for the Federation, Klingon, Romulan and Gorn.
